SheetMagic Review 2025: AI For Google Sheets Done Right?

Google Sheets is great until you actually need to use it for anything repetitive. You try to streamline, but it still ends up being hours of copy-pasting, formatting, or trying to remember which formula fixes that one annoying thing.
If your productive day involves anything like writing product copy, summarizing long blocks of text, or transforming messy data, you’re probably doing way too much of it by hand. And that’s the kind of work that quietly eats up your week.
I’ve been testing a tool called SheetMagic that works inside Google Sheets and helps with bulk tasks using AI – think rewriting, generating, extracting, and transforming text without jumping between tools.
In this honest SheetMagic review, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about this AI spreadsheet enhancer, including what’s worth using it for and where it still needs work.

Each one helps you skip repetitive work and use AI right where you’re already doing your thing. Here’s a breakdown of the most useful ones, in simple terms:

You can also include spreadsheet data inside your prompts by referencing a cell, e.g. =aitext("Write an intro for this blog post: ", A2) where A2 contains your blog post title. That means you can apply the same logic to an entire column by dragging to fill.
I’ve included a bunch of example prompts – with real outputs from my testing – in the next section so you can see what it looks like in action.
If you are considering buying SheetMagic for writing full blogs, I personally don’t recommend this. You’ll get a much better quality content (+ proper formatting, personalization, tone of voice, SEO friendliness, and more) using the bulk generator in Koala Writer or other AI tools made specifically for long-form writing.
SheetMagic use cases with samples
I’ll admit, I’ve put SheetMagic to good use because I wanted it to be worth the money I spent on the 3-code lifetime deal. So let me show you some results!
Whatever SheetMagic formula you use, you only need to write it once and then you can use the usual “drag to fill” action to apply it to desired cells.
For testing purposes, I used super simple prompts anyone could write, so some outputs may feel a bit repetitive or generic. You can of course customize them with your style and specific needs, or just insert personalized prompts you may already be using for ChatGPT.

1. SEO meta descriptions for blog posts
Writing meta descriptions manually is a time-suck, especially when you’re publishing dozens of blog posts per month or manage multiple blogs.
With SheetMagic, you can automate this step and generate short, engaging, SEO-friendly meta descriptions in bulk. Just feed in your article titles and get polished snippets in seconds – ready to paste into your blog backend or SEO plugin.

Content creators often get stuck at the ideation stage. With SheetMagic, you can easily generate targeted blog post ideas for specific niches or website categories right in your spreadsheet.
This works well for planning new editorial calendars, clustering content for SEO, or brainstorming guest post ideas.
For generating multiple ideas or versions of something, I recommend using =ailist() or =ailisth() instead of =aitext() because it puts each idea/variation in a separate row (vertically or horizontally respectively). I prefer ailisth() so I can drag down to fill and quickly make multiple variations for each.

The website is about ", I2)Note that I had to add that sentence about strict output because, just like ChatGPT does, SheetMagic would give me more than I need, using API tokens unnecessarily to say “here’s your stuff” or add descriptions/explanations when I only ask for titles. Keep this in mind if you’re generating a lot of text and make sure to test the prompts before using them in bulk.

4. Bulk Pinterest pin titles & descriptions
Pinterest rewards fresh, keyword-rich content – but writing pin titles and descriptions for every post is tedious. I used to spend hours on this before AI came along!
With SheetMagic, you can quickly generate multiple scroll-stopping Pinterest titles and descriptions for each article or product based on your blog topics or product names. You’ll save a ton of time while staying consistent with your content strategy.

Other things I like about SheetMagic
Prompt Library
When you buy a SheetMagic subscription or a lifetime license, you also get access to their Prompt Library with 60+ powerful AI prompts for Google Sheets.
Most of the prompts themselves are nothing special and if you’re well-versed in prompt engineering, you’ll probably use your own prompts like I do, but it gives you a good idea of possible use cases and a solid starting point if you’re new.
(Update: Some of the prompts are actually pretty good, for example, I’m impressed by Midjourney prompt generator, it’s really well-written!)
Easier than usual automation tools
SheetMagic replaced several Make.com scenarios I had used for my business. And once it’s set up, it’s way easier to use than Make!
While it won’t be able to replace a full complex automation, it is a super simple and effective solution for automating many repetitive daily tasks, especially if you don’t wanna learn how to use Make or other tech-heavy tools.

SheetMagic pricing
SheetMagic pricing is super straightforward.
It offers only two plans: a Solo Plan priced at $19 per month and a Team Plan for $79.
The main differences of a Team Plan are unlimited users, additional features for team collaboration, and priority support. That’s pretty much it.
SheetMagic doesn’t limit your AI usage because you will connect your own API keys and pay for AI usage directly. They also let you do unlimited web scraping regardless of the plan.
One caveat here: They don’t actually let you pay monthly, only quarterly or yearly (with a discount).
Does SheetMagic have a lifetime deal?
Yes! As of summer 2025, SheetMagic offers lifetime deals on AppSumo.
One-code license will cost you $69 (less than 4 month of Solo Plan!) and it’s more than enough for daily tasks like web scraping and data processing.
However, if you are planning to use it for anything creative, like writing blog content, social media posts, or marketing copy, you’ll need to stack 3 codes or more.
Why? Because anything lower than that will not give you access to the latest AI models. Currently 1-code and 2-code deals only give you access to GPT 4o-mini, which isn’t ideal for creative writing.
3-code SheetMagic lifetime license will cost you $207 and that’s what I bought.
In full honesty, I think this price point is a bit steep for solo creators unless you plan to be actively using SheetMagic for years (which I do but you might not). Otherwise just stay on the Solo Plan subscription, it seems to have better value than smaller lifetime deals.
Room for improvement
While I think SheetMagic is a really good tool to use, there are a few things I don’t like:
Final verdict: Is SheetMagic AI worth it?
If you already spend a lot of time in Google Sheets and want to automate repetitive stuff and run commands in bulk quickly without building full-blown workflows – SheetMagic is 100% worth it.
It’s fast, simple enough for non-tech-savvy people, and surprisingly powerful with so many potential use cases. If you make good use of it, it will eliminate most time-sucking parts of your daily work, allowing you to scale without hiring new people.
For the price I paid for the 3-code lifetime deal and the time SheetMagic has already saved me, it’s a no-brainer!
If your work has anything to do with content, lead gen, or any kind of bulk data tasks in Google Sheets, this tool’s going to be useful almost immediately.
