The Only 8 Social Media Tools You Need As A Solo Creator

I could earn a tiny commission if you shop using my links. Please read my disclaimer for more.

As a solo content creator, I know social media can feel like a full-time job on top of everything else. You’re trying to show up on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, you name it – and somehow stay sane while juggling it all.

Personally, I spent more time than I’m willing to admit researching and testing social media tools. It took me years of trial and error to find these 8 apps I can confidently recommend today.

There are a lot of good tools out there, but most of them are not made for solo creators. They are targeting marketing agencies, ’cause that’s where they make the most money. And while they may be doing a good job feature-wise, it often makes life harder instead of helping someone who’s single-handedly wearing all the hats in their business.

And trust me, I tried dozens of social media management tools before I found the one I could actually stick with long-term. For example, I found Hootsuite and Later way too expensive for solopreneurs. Tailwind is too limiting if you’re multipassionate and work on several projects at a time. And Buffer’s interface was slow and clunky, which just added more friction to my already packed workflow.

Quick Note

The software tools listed on this page are what I consider the best for solo content creators. But if you have a marketing agency or represent a big business, you may still find some of these useful depending on your workflows.

Here are the only 8 social media tools you need in 2025 as a solo content creator, based on my personal experience:

What are the best social media tools for solo creators?

If you’re tired of spending long hours every week bouncing between Canva, ChatGPT, Google Docs, scheduling tools, and five different social platforms – only to feel like you’re still behind – this list is for you!

These are the eight social media tools I’d recommend to any solo creator who wants to post consistently, stay organized, and grow their audience without burning out.

1. PostPlanner

postplanner homepage - best social media management tool for creators

Best budget-friendly tool for social media management

PostPlanner is my go-to scheduling tool – the one that keeps all my content running without constant check-ins or last-minute scrambling.

I use it to manage 10+ social accounts across multiple projects, and there’s no way I would be able to post consistently without it.

The interface is super simple and fast, and it doesn’t try to do a hundred things you don’t need. It just helps you get your content scheduled and out the door.

I aim to schedule about two weeks of content in advance – this way I don’t need to log in and post manually every day, but also it’s not too far in advance so I can still post on trending topics on time.

PostPlanner keeps posting on my preferred schedule while I’m working on other projects, sleeping, or out enjoying my life.

The “buckets” feature makes it easy to stay organized by themes or content types, and bulk uploading is a huge time-saver for me. I also love how you can view your scheduled content in a calendar, list, or grid – whatever works best for you.

Best Features of PostPlanner

  • Affordable for solo content creators
  • Easy schedule creation and adjusting
  • Calendar, grid & list views
  • Bulk scheduling and uploads
  • Post recycling – great for recurring promos, seasonal content, or re-publishing posts that went viral
  • “Buckets” for different content types or topics
  • Scheduling the first comment for Facebook
  • Content library with fresh viral ideas based on what currently works in your industry
  • Supports up to 25 social accounts

Pricing

Post Planner has a Free plan – can be enough if you just have one social account and only need to schedule 1-3 posts per day.

The Starter plan is great if you’re juggling up to 3 social accounts on your own. For just $7 per month, you can queue up to 150 posts at a time and have access to post shuffling, recycling, buckets, bulk upload, and many other cool features like reels or carousels.

If you’re posting more frequently or want access to viral content and better scheduling features, the Growth plan bumps you up to 12 accounts and 1,000 queued posts for $37 per month.

Finally, the Business plan lets you schedule content for up to 25 accounts with 4 additional users (typically your VAs or other team members) and have 5,000 scheduled posts at any time.

All plans come with a 7-day free trial and don’t ask for your credit card to sign up.

Why is PostPlanner worth trying

I’ve tried so many different social media management tools, and this is the only one that makes sense specifically for solopreneurs feature-wise and price-wise. That’s why I’ve stuck with it for over a year now, and as my projects grew, I gradually moved from the Free plan all the way to Business.

2. Poppy AI

poppy ai homepage - best tool for creating viral social media content

Best AI tool to create viral social media content

PoppyAI is a creative workspace that helps you turn existing content and data (yours or someone else’s) into something new – with high virality or conversion potential – without spending many hours on research and writing.

You can drop in a YouTube video, a podcast, a blog post, links to viral Twitter (X) posts, even screenshots or voice notes, and it pulls out the key info so you can repurpose, recreate the tone, or build on it fast.

Pro Tip:

Upload detailed information about your target audience, like their persona and pain points you’re solving, along with details about yourself and your offerings, and Poppy will write compelling copy based on all that.

It’s not just about writing social media content from scratch! Poppy can take posts that already performed well (yours or someone you admire, be it Mr.Beast or Alex Hormozi), study the tone, style, and structure, and help you recreate something similar that fits your niche, brand voice and audience.

What makes it different from other AI tools is how visual and flexible it is. You’re not stuck in a single chat. You get a whiteboard where you can move pieces around, connect stuff, drop images and links, see everything at once, and communicate with AI based on all that context.

Best Features of Poppy AI

poppy ai logo
  • Visual whiteboard workspace with AI
  • Drag and drop YT videos, audios, URLs, text, images
  • Re-create high-converting content based on viral posts
  • Write compelling copy based on audience + offer
  • Great for visual thinkers who love mind maps
  • Includes Claude and ChatGPT so you can cancel those subscriptions

Pricing

I would say pricing is the only downside of Poppy. They only offer yearly plans starting at $399/year (which equals about $33 per month).

According to the founder, they can’t afford to allow free trials because they are bootstrapped and don’t have any external funding.

I know not everyone can afford to pay this price point as a solo creator, so I’d say only go for Poppy if you have clear content goals in mind for your creative business. They offer 30-day money-back guarantee so you don’t have anything to lose.

I’ve seen people making $20k+ from viral social media posts fully written by Poppy, which of course makes this tool a no-brainer, but you have to be intentional on how you’re gonna use it to make it worth its price.

There is also a sweet lifetime deal that comes with a 1:1 coaching with the founder.

3. Repurpose

repurpose homepage - helps you repurpose your content to all social media

Best social media tool for repurposing content

If you’re already making short-form videos, Repurpose.io can save you a ton of time!

Instead of manually reposting the same clip to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook stories, and everywhere else, this tool does it all for you – automatically.

You set up your workflows once, and Repurpose takes care of the rest. It can remove Tiktok watermarks, resize the video for each platform’s aspect ratio, and schedule all posts without you lifting a finger.

Best Features of Repurpose

repurposeio_logo
  • Auto-posts videos to all your social platforms
  • Resizes videos for each platform
  • Removes TikTok watermarks
  • Drag-and-drop workflow builder
  • Lets you stay active on all platforms and multiply your reach without going insane
  • Backs up your videos to Drive or Dropbox

Pricing

Repurpose.io plans start at $0.97/day (~$29/month). You can try it free for 14 days, and they even let you publish your first 10 videos without asking for a credit card.

If you’re a multipassionate creator like I am or a busy parent trying to squeeze content into whatever time you can find, Repurpose is a lifesaver! You don’t have to keep uploading the same video five times – your content gets seen in more places with way less effort.

4. OpusClip

opus homepage - time saving tool for social media shorts

Best for turning long videos into short-form clips

OpusClip (also known as Opus) saves you hours if you’re sitting on long-form content and don’t have time to manually edit it down for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts.

You drop in a video link, and it automatically finds the most interesting, high-performing moments – then turns them into scroll-stopping clips you can post right away.

Opus includes a social media scheduler so if your content strategy is all about short-form clips, you can get away with using this one tool and not paying for social media management software separately.

Opus adds captions, zooms, transitions, all the little things that make short videos pop. You can use it with vlogs, interviews, screen recordings, anything really.

If you’re trying to reach a bigger audience online but don’t have time to edit clips all day, this tool makes batch content creation and scheduling feel doable.

Best Features of Opus

opus clip logo
  • Turns long videos into shorts automatically
  • AI editing with captions, zooms, transitions
  • Auto-scheduling to all platforms
  • Helpful analytics to find what performs well
  • Supports YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X
  • Supports 20+ languages

Pricing

OpusClip has a free plan with 60 minutes of video processing available monthly.

The paid plans start at $14.50/month with a 7-day free trial that requires no credit card.

Each next plan offers higher video processing speed and more credits, as well as other perks like more aspect ratios, AI B-roll, etc.

Overall, Opus is the best social media tool I’ve seen so far that can turn long form videos into short form viral clips that actually make sense as standalone content.

5. PinClicks

PinClicks homepage - must have research tool for Pinterest creators

Best tool for Pinterest research

Pinterest is a massive traffic source that a lot of creators sleep on.

If you’re using it – or thinking about giving it another shot – PinClicks is a tool I use to grow my Pinterest audience consistently without guessing.

PinClicks is the only data-driven keyword research tool for Pinterest. It shows you what people are actually searching for (and which topics you shouldn’t bother creating content for), which pins are ranking at the top for a certain keyword and which have the most saves.

There’s also a rank tracking feature that will notify you when your pins jump up or down in search results.

This tool is only over a year old – before then, Pinterest didn’t let you access any of the volume, saves data or insights like that via API, so there were no data-focused Pinterest research tools on the market and all we had was Pinterest Trends.

One of the coolest features in PinClicks is competitor research. You can look up any competitor and get insight into their top-performing pins, most popular boards, and keywords they target. You literally can’t get this information anywhere else.

What I like about it is that it pulls data directly from Pinterest, not just estimates like all SEO keyword research tools.

Tony Hill (the founder of PinClicks) is the most data-obsessed person I know in the Pinterest context. I’ve been a part of his mastermind group for over a year now and I’m continuously impressed by his deep understanding of what Pinterest needs. If you are serious about Pinterest and don’t follow him yet, you should!

pinclicks logo

Best Features of PinClicks

  • See keyword search volume directly from Pinterest
  • Find official Pinterest terms you can rank for
  • Uncover new content angles you wouldn’t think of
  • Track your pin rankings over time
  • Learn from existing pins ranking at the top
  • See your competitors’ best keywords and pins

Pricing

When you sign up for PinClicks, you get 5 days of full access free (no credit card needed), then it starts at $29/month.

Tony sometimes offers exclusive discounts to his community, so keep an eye on his email newsletter and Mavericks forum.

My Experience with PinClicks

I used to wonder why one of my sites barely had any traffic from Pinterest regardless of me posting good-quality content consistently and spending hours perfecting my pins in Canva.

When I started using PinClicks, it all became clear – turned out, many of the topics I was targeting only have ~1k volume of Pinterest search. Now I’m targeting 50k+ volume keywords and my new account has 3+ million monthly views thanks to PinClicks data.

6. BlogToPin

BlogToPin homepage - social media tool for Pinterest creators

Best Pinterest automation tool for bloggers

If Pinterest is part of your blog growth strategy, BlogToPin can seriously cut down how much time you’re spending on it.

It doesn’t just schedule your pins – it automates the whole process! From finding the right pages to pin, to writing titles and descriptions with AI, even matching pins to the best boards for reach – it handles everything.

With BlogToPin, you can bulk schedule a full month’s worth of content in minutes! I don’t know any other tool that can do that in a fully automated way without coding. Definitely not with good-looking pin designs.

BlogToPin scans your website, pulls in your blog posts, and auto-generates custom pins based on your images using AI (or your own Canva templates if you don’t like AI).

If you’ve used other schedulers before, this one will feel next level! It’s built to basically become your Pinterest VA (virtual assistant) and grow your traffic without manual daily pinning we all hate.

Best Features of BlogToPin

blog2pin logo
  • Generate pins for all your blog posts in one go
  • Use your own Canva templates to stay on-brand
  • Bulk schedule up to 30,000 pins/month
  • Generates pin titles, descriptions with AI
  • Auto-matches pages to Pinterest boards
  • Smart shuffle + smart scheduling
  • Detailed analytics to track what’s working

Pricing

BlogToPin plans start at $25/month, with a 7-day free trial that lets you test the tool’s capabilities before committing.

What’s cool is that you can connect unlimited accounts even on the smallest plan! This is the area where most other social media management tools limit you in order to make you pay for more accounts, which I personally find very annoying ’cause I have a lot of projects.

The Starter plan allows you to publish 1000 pins per month, and the biggest plan lets you schedule 1000 pins per day.

7. PostWise

Postwise homepage - social media tool for Twitter creators

Best AI social media tool for Twitter and LinkedIn

If X (formerly Twitter) or LinkedIn is your social media platform of choice and you’re hardly seeing any results from time-consuming daily posting, PostWise can completely change the game and help you grow your account fast!

It makes it so much easier to show up and post consistently, even on the days when your brain refuses to generate any clever ideas worth sharing.

This is how it works: you give PostWise a topic or idea, it pulls popular Twitter/Linkedin posts and generates you a batch of unique, relevant posts you can publish immediately.

It learns from the top-performing human content so it doesn’t sound like a typical AI junk you’d normally get from ChatGPT.

You can schedule the generated posts right away, tweak them to sound more like you, or just use them as a jumping-off point when you don’t know what to write about – up to you!

As a bonus, you can also reuse the generated tweets for lesser-known platforms like BlueSky, Threads, or Mastodon to increase your reach.

postwise logo

Best Features of PostWise

  • Ghost-writes your X tweets and Linkedin threads
  • Writes in a compelling way based on recent viral posts
  • Doesn’t sound like generic AI content
  • Offers smart scheduling and auto-reposting
  • Auto-DMs interested people with your link or offer
  • (My favorite feature 🔥) Auto-reply to your tweet with a plug after reaching a certain number of likes

Pricing

PostWise has a very simple and straightforward pricing structure:

  • Basic plan ($37 per month) gives you 400 AI credits, lets you connect up to 5 accounts and schedule 6 months in advance.
  • Unlimited plan ($97 per month) removes all the limitations above so you can generate unlimited posts to unlimited accounts for as far ahead as you dare.

You can try PostWise free for 7 days and then decide whether it’s worth it for you!

Ever wished you could just delegate the whole Twitter routine but never did because it wouldn’t sound like you? Well, clones aren’t available yet, but PostWise is the next best thing!

8. PhotoGPT

PhotoGPT ai homepage

Best AI photography tool for social media

If you’re a solopreneur trying to stay visible online, having decent photos of yourself isn’t optional anymore – it’s part of the job. Whether you’re posting to Instagram, updating your LinkedIn, or just want your content to feel more human, visuals matter.

But that doesn’t mean you need to book a photoshoot every month!

PhotoGPT gives you a way to generate fresh, realistic images of yourself without paying photographers or even leaving your house.

Here’s how it works: You upload a batch of selfies, and PhotoGPT learns what you look like, creating an AI version of you.

Then you can create everything from polished headshots to casual lifestyle photos, travel shots, or themed content. You can also recreate someone else’s amazing photos and they will actually look realistic!

If you upload a reference image, AI will match a specific pose, outfit, and setting, which is perfect if you’re building a brand and want your feed to feel consistent without it looking like the same three photos over and over.

Best Features of PhotoGPT

photogptai logo
  • Create realistic photos of yourself for your socials
  • Choose from dozens of preset styles and themes
  • Use a reference image to recreate a pose or idea
  • Always have a mix of professional-looking pics of yourself for various purposes
  • Put yourself in cinematic or fantasy scenes for fun and potentially viral marketing
  • Don’t use stock photos that have already been used 692,817 times by other people

Pricing

The Starter plan is $16.66/month and gives you 5,000 credits – enough to train up to 3 models or generate around 1,000 images. It also gives you access to 25 preset styles, AI prompt enhancing, and the option to upload reference photos.

One image generation in PhotoGPT costs ~5 credits.

There’s no free plan or trial. Higher plans offer more credits, let you train more AI models, and give you access to 100+ curated templates.

Currently there’s also a lifetime deal on AppSumo worth checking out.

Note that some AI obutputs may not look exactly like you, but when it gets it right, the results are kind of amazing. I was genuinely impressed by the images I was able to generate!

Why is social media important for solo creators?

When you’re building something on your own, social media isn’t just a nice-to-have – it’s how people find you.

It’s where you show up, share what you’re working on, and build trust with the people you want to reach. You don’t need to go viral every week, but you do need to be visible.

And showing up consistently (without burning out) is way easier when you have the right tools in place.

Here’s what social media can do for you as a solo creator:

  • Bring in traffic to your website or offers
  • Build credibility and trust with your audience
  • Create opportunities you wouldn’t find otherwise
  • Grow a community around your work
  • Test ideas quickly before going all-in on something
  • Stay top of mind even when you’re not actively launching anything

How to choose the best social media tools for you?

There’s no perfect tech stack that works for everyone.

What matters is finding tools that fit you – your goals, your budget, and whatever your daily workflow looks like based on how your brain operates.

Just because something is popular (even if it works well), doesn’t mean it’s the right choice for a solo creator juggling everything on their own.

Here are a few things to consider when picking your social media tools:

  • Does it save you time or add to your workload?
  • Can you actually afford it long-term? What if your business grows?
  • Is it simple enough that you’ll actually use it all the time?
  • Does it support the social media platforms you’re focused on?

If a tool helps you schedule content quickly, stay organized, or stop overthinking every word – that’s worth paying for.
